Chinese electronics maker PIXCIR is introducing a line of 7 and 8.9 inch touchscreen displays for netbooks that support capacitative multi-touch features. In other words, you can use two-finger gestures do to things like close a program, zoom in and out of images or web pages, or even play a virtual piano with more than one finger.
Capacitative touchscreens tend to cost more than the resistive touchscreens you’ll find on many cheaper netbook touchscreen kits. It’s not clear at the moment which type of display we’ll see on the upcoming Eee PC T91 and T101H netbooks, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see some netbook and notebook makers opting for multi-touch displays like PIXCIR’s in the not too distant future, in order to take advantage of the multi-touch functionality in Windows 7.
