Chinese device maker Pipo is showing off its latest tablets and at least one new smartphone (with a tablet-sized screen) in Hong Kong this week.
As expected, some of Pipo’s new tablets are powered by the new Rockchip’s RK3288 ARM Cortex-A17 quad-core processor. But several of the company’s new devices also feature MediaTek’s 8-core chip: the MTK6592 ARM Cortex-A7 processor.
Here’s a quick run-down of some of the latest Pipo tablets heading to China (and possibly other market — Pipo tablets often show up at international reseller sites).
Pipo Titanium T9
This 8.9 inch tablet has a 1920 x 1200 pixel IPS display, a 1.7 GHz Mediatek octa-core CPU, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and a 7300mAh battery.
it has a 13MP rear camera and 2MP front-facing camera, a metal case, and support for 3G cellular networks. Not only does that let you use it on the go — you can also make phone calls with the tablet (if you’re using a supported network).
Pipo Platinum T10
You’d think a tablet called the T10 would have a 10 inch screen… and you’d be wrong. This model is a 7 inch tablet with the same MTK6592 CPU as the 9 inch model, as well as 1920 x 1200 pixel display. And like the larger tablet, this model has a 13MP rear camera and 2MP front camera.
The smaller tablet has a sharper screen… but a smaller battery, at 3600mAh.
Pipo Platinum T8
With a 6.44 inch display, you could probably get away with calling this model a smartphone or a phablet — especially since it can make phone calls.
Like the larger models, the Pipo Platinum T8 features a MTK6592 octa-core CPU, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, 13MP rear camera and 2MP front camera.
This model has a 1920 x 1080 pixel display.
Pipo P1
I could be wrong about the name of this tablet, but Pipo is showing one of the first tablets powered by Rockchip’s new RK3288 quad-core processor. The companies say the chip uses less energy than the RK3188 ARM Cortex-A9 quad-core CPU, while offering greater performance.
The tablet has a 9.7 inch display and features ARM Mali-T764 graphics with support for H.265 video playback.
There aren’t many other details available, but Pipo is expected to launch new RK3288 tablets with 8.9 inch, 9.7 inch, and 10.1 inch displays and screen resolutions as high as 2560 x 1600 pixels.
RK3188 with MALI-T764 ? 😀
FHD everywhere o/
Any $150 price points by chance? Pretty please? With sugar and ice cream? Sprinkles on top? Huh? Huh? DAMN…I tried.
