Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 600 processor made quite a splash in 2013, when it was chosen to power a number of popular smartphones including the Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One (M7).
Now you can get a single-board computer with a Snapdragon 600 chip for just $75.
InForce Computing is running a sale on its IFC6410 Pico-ITX board. Order by May 18th and use the promo code “makerfaire” at checkout and you can get this little device for half its normal price.
The IFC6410 is basically a tiny desktop computer with a Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor,Adreno 320 graphics, 2GB of RAM, and 4GB of built-in storage.
It also has connectors for μSD card and SATA devices for additional storage. The device features built-in 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 and Gigabit Ethernet, mic and audio jacks, 2 USB ports, and 1 USB OTG port.
While the single-board computer should let you create a low-power Android desktop computer if that’s what you really want to do, it’s really aimed at developers and it features I/O interfaces including GPIO, UART, SPI, and I2C connectors.
Possible applications include digital signage, thin client systems, video conferencing or surveillance, or orbotics.

The Snapdragon 600 based Inforce 6410 now ships with Android Kitkat or an Ubuntu 14.04 based Linaro Member Build that provides a desktop like environment using Ubuntu and the Gnome desktop. The hardware has been improved too to yield
significantly better thermal characteristics at higher CPU
performance. So the board can actually run at 1.7Ghz without issues. Check it out!

Oof, shipping is 43 bucks? 🙁
yesterday they wanted $28 to ship 2 day fedex which is very high to ship 1.5 lbs within the usa. today they raised it to $43.17. They can keep their product if that’s how they do business
Wow, the site says you’ll get 30 whole hours of free support! I wonder much they’ll charge after that.
Any chance this would run Linux? A 600 is a pretty strong chip for one of these boards, and the SATA port is pretty attractive for a microserver.
It’s supposed to run Android or Linux. Of course, you’ll likely have to rely on the image from the OEM due to the usual proprietary driver issues with Qualcomm and most other ARM SoCs. You could techinically build your own Linux system if you have access to or extract the binary drivers from the OEM’s image but you’ll still likely be stuck on older Linux kernels.
so its cute but not so interesting. These arm soc vendors don’t seem to get how open they are to competition if they don’t get their openness policy together.
I can not find the Linux download. I checked all of their pages… No Linux. Hardware without software support is an expensive doorstop.
I realize all of the hardware manufacturers try to show how much better their stuff as compared to the raspberry pi. Problem is my raspberry pi boots and runs stuff.
I do not know how I would get something useful out of that board. Too bad because it looks like a sexy board.
I am starting to think “Aimed at Developers” is marketing lingo for “you are on your own… good luck!”
Maybe they’ll give you a download link during the 30 hour support period, :). After that, it’s $6,000 per 40 hours of support: https://www.inforcelive.com/index.php?route=product/category&path=67
Also, if it’s like some other ARM SBC OEMs then the image will be included in the box. You’d have to contact them for updated drivers and other things. At least that’s what their FAQ says. Also, their download section requires you to create an account. I didn’t make one so I don’t know what you can download.
