Pandigital SuperNova

A few months ago Pandigital launches a series of tablets with astronomical names including the Planet, Nova, and Star. Now they’re joined by the Pandigital SuperNova, a tablet with an 8 inch screen and a $229 price tag.

The SuperNova features a 1 GHz Samsung S5PV210 processor, an 800 x 600 pixel capacitive multitouch display, 512MB of RAM, and 4GB of storage. It runs Google Android 2.3 Gingerbread and features 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, and has micro-HDMI and microSD ports.

Overall it looks like a pretty decent general purpose tablet — but it ships without access to the Google Android Market and other Google apps including Gmail and Google Maps. Instead you get the GetJar app store.

The tablet also comes with a Barnes & Noble eBook app preloaded.

With the Lenovo IdeaPad A1, Amazon Kindle Fire, and a number of other tablets now selling for $200, the Pandigital SuperNova could be a tough sell. If the tablet had come out a few months ago it might have been easier to justify the $229 price tag.

The new tablet showed up at the FCC a few months ago, and it should finally be available for purchase soon.

  1. waiting to get mine thier are good and bad on this table dont know what to do

  2. I’m extremely satisfied with this purchase. I read 100s of reviews on all the different tablets and finally decided that everyone that gives a review has a different reason why they wanted the tablet so I decided to go on hands on and check them out myself at BestBuy. I like the Pandigit Supernova. It meets my needs which are surfing the net, skype, Facebook, Netflix, and e-mail. I don’t need fancy apps and honestly the resolution and brightness is just fine and unless you are working on yours right next to a more expensive tablet model, you won’t know what you are missing. Definitely worth purchasing for  the $199.00. EASY set up, easy easy easy! I know it’s not top of the line or near it but for what I use it for it is great.

    1. How are you able to Skype? Do you have an Android phone also? I do not, and a lot of apps are not dloading for me….frustrated..

  3. It fits well in hands and does not have any edgy and rugged corners. In fact, the chassis is smooth, light and thin.
