There are plenty of 2-in-1 tablets that you can use as notebooks when you attach a keyboard dock. But most are designed for general consumers, with a few models sporting slightly tougher cases designed for business or education customers.

And then there’s the Panasonic ToughBook 20. It’s a 10.1 inch Windows tablet with a detachable keyboard that’s designed for use in extreme environments. Not only its it rugged, but it’s also dustproof, water resistant, designed to be easy to use outdoors, and it even has a touchscreen that works when you’re wearing gloves.

Panasonic says the ToughBook 20 will be available in February, 2016, but it won’t be cheap. Prices are expected to start at $3099.

The Panasonic ToughBook 20 features an Intel Core m5-6Y57 Skylake processor with vPro technology, a 10.1 inch, 1920 x 1200 pixel display, 8GB of RAM, and at least 128GB of solid state storage.

There’s a 2600 mAh battery in the tablet, and there’s room for an optional second battery in the keyboard dock to double your battery life. Panasonic will also offer an optional birdge battery that can be used to keep the device running while you swap out batteries.

On the tablet you’ll find a USB 3.0 port (there’s room for an optional second one), a microSDXC card slot, HDMI, headset, and micro SIM ports. The keyboard dock has three full-sized USB ports, HDMI and VGA ports, Ethernet and serial ports, and an SDXC card reader.

Wireless features include 802.11ac WiFi, Bluetooth, and options for 4G LTE, NFC, and GPS.

The tablet has an 800 nit multi-touch display with support for an optional active digitizer.

Panasonic will ship the ToughBook 20 with Windows 10 Pro, but customers can also request a downgrade to Windows 7 Pro.

  1. THREE GRAND EACH!? Perfect for Government work! I’ll take twenty seven hundred thousand of them and send them all to our enemies abroad.

  2. core m5 instead of m7 and 128gb disk in a 3000 dollar computer. Lol.
