Olloclip is best known for its 4-in-1 Lens accessory, which is a clip that mounts to a mobile device’s back-facing camera for fisheye, wide-angle, or macro photography.

Now the company is ready to go to task with a new case that will turn an iPhone 6 or 6 Plus into a mini photo studio.

Olloclip Studio

The Olloclip Studio is a modular case that features a special mounting system for mobile photography accessories. It includes a finger grip so you can use your hand as a mount without worrying about slipping. There is also a kickstand, two ¼-20 mounts (one for landscape and one for portrait) to attach to a tripod, and a set of cold shoe adapters for accessories like a microphone or light.

The company is seeking crowd-funding through Kickstarter for mass production of the new modular case and accessories. For a $60 pledge, you can be first in line to get the Studio Case and Accessory kit when it goes to market. There are additional pledge tiers for the Olloclip Studio with compatible lenses if you don’t already have them.

The case is designed specifically for the iPhone 6 or 6 Plus and is compatible with all of Olloclip’s current lens accessories. The back of the case features a rail system, which holds the mounts, kickstand, finger grip, and cold shoe adapters.

The accessories are designed to attach to the side of the iPhone and can slide around for universal positioning. The finger grip is designed for hands-on videos, the tripod mount for steady shots, and the cold shoe mounts will allow you to add both a camera light and microphone at the same time.

The Olloclip Studio is a great example of the variety of possibilities that modular cases have to offer. Having a case that is interchangeable and universally usable with other accessories makes your initial purchase a better investment. Hopefully, this trend will continue and we will see more modular case options in the future.
