Ocosmos OCS9

The OCS9 tablet from OCosmos is a 10.1 inch Windows 7 slate PC with a 1.5 GHz Intel Atom Z670 Oak Trail processor, 2GB of RAM, and a solid state disk. The company started showing off the tablet in January, and it’s finally ready to go on sale next month in Korea, where it will be available for $700.

The tablet’s claim to fame is its focus on video games. While the tablet doesn’t have the fastest processor around, the Oak Trail chip should allow the little guy to get halfway decent battery life. It also has enough graphics power to crank out HD video on the OCS9’s 10.1 inch, 1280 x 800 pixel IPS display.

The folks at The Verge got a look at a pre-production model this week, and they were underwhelmed by the performance, but there’s still time for Ocosmos to improve things before shipping the tablet.

Ocosmos also plans to offer a series of wireless game controllers for the tablet which are virtually a must-have for serious gamers… although a higher end graphics card might also be a must have.
