Notion Ink has been promising for ages that the company’s upcoming Adam tablet would be a multimedia powerhouse. And that’s not just because it packs NVIDIA Tegra graphics for handling HD video playback. Notion Ink also says the tablet will come with software that will let you download music, movies, comic books and other digital media content.
Today Notion Ink announced its partner for comic book distribution: LongBox. The Longbox platform lets you purchase, download, and read digital comic books. The company currently offers apps for Windows and Mac, but Android, iPad, and Windows Phone 7 apps are on the way as well as versions for other handheld systems and gaming consoles.
While LongBox doesn’t appear to offer titles from comic book behemoths Marvell or DC, the company does have a decent list of partners including Top Cow, Boom Studios, and others.
As part of the deal with Notion Ink, LongBox will be the exclusive comic book app pre-loaded on any Notion Ink devices over the next few years. It’s not entirely clear what Notion Ink gets out of that deal, aside from the fact that the Adam Tablet will get the app slightly ahead of the general release of the Android and iPad LongBox apps.

No doubt. . . they were one of the early Android tablets to hit the shows. . . some day. . .
It would be more beneficial to NI if they got to releasing the adam.
