Microsoft may be planning to replace Android with Windows Phone on the company’s Nokia X series smartphones in the future. But that doesn’t mean the Microsoft won’t continue to support its Android devices until the time for the big switch comes.
The company has just released a software update for the Nokia X2 Dual SIM which brings new camera features, new live wallpaper options, and access to Gmail and other Google services.
Noxia X2 software platform 2.1 includes new tools for capturing fast-moving objects with a camera by using Smart Mode to shoot a series of photos in quick succession. You can then use Best shot, Action shot, or Motion focus to tweak the final photo.
Other updates include support for Gmail and Google contact sync, new lock screen widgets, and improvements to Nokia’s app store for Android apps, HERE Maps improvements, and more.
You can find more details in the change log.
Google services support? NOT TRUE… after the update, i still can’t open my gmail inbox using the gmail app nor open my youtube and google account….
Brad, do you know where the Nokia X2 is actually available? I would like to buy one as it just seems good enough for a secondary phone, but I can’t even find it on ebay worldwide.
Mr. Brim
Only place i seen it readily available so far is ebay but for the inflated price of 165 usd
No Gmail or Google contact sync from the outset? No wonder these sold so poorly.
you are wrong
What am I wrong about? The article says that “support for Gmail and Google contact sync” is a new feature, so it wasn’t there from the outset. As far as I know, they didn’t sell well.
