The folks at Netbook Navigator are getting ready to launch a 7 inch slate PC called the Nav7. First unveiled at CES, the Nav7 Slate PC will feature a 7 inch multitouch display, an Intel Atom Z5xx series processor, and a case that’s 0.7 inches thick. The tablet will weigh 1.2 pounds.
The base model of the tablet will run $649 and come with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. A top of the line unit will run $1149 for 2GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, Windows 7 Home Premium and a 3G modem.
Netbook Navigator will begin taking orders for the Nav7 by the end of this week.
The company also plans to lower the starting price of the Nav9 Slate PC from $599 to $549. I reviewed the 8.9 inch Nav9 tablet last year. I wasn’t all that impressed, due to poor viewing angles, the lack of an accelerometer, and awful text input options. But the new model is supposed to have a more sensitive touchscreen.

I will not pay for an untested product and be the guinea pig. I will let it come and go, and get the next Nav 7 “2.0”
With an Atom Z5xx series CPU, this puppy is dead on arrival.
At minimum, it should come with a Z6xx series CPU, if not a
dual core N5xx.
Guess I’ll have to keep waiting for a decent Windows 7 slate.
Z6xx delayed til late Summer, maybe longer… this tablet is launching in March… what you are asking is impossible. The company has upgraded their processors in the past, I’m sure they’ll do it again when the time comes.
For me, it’s still worth it to wait if products aren’t ready for prime
time.
The Atom Z5xx has been used in sluggish products like the
touchscreen netbooks from Lenovo (S10-3t), Asus (T91), Viliv,
UMID, etc. These have been almost universallypanned.
Even the Atom N450 has been less than stellar in the Asus T101
touchscreen netbook.
If one can afford to wait (which I can), it’s sort of like skipping
Win Vista to go from Win XP to Win 7.

i could even say this is a rip-off of Adam’s feature if you said it was the first to appear
To be fair, he says no other tablet “in this class.” Read that how you will.
ye you’re right, that’s a vague term to define.
funny thing is they deleted my comment before I had decided to do that myself, then messaged me and said they were right because of the difference on the sizes.
if the statement really IS true, they wouldn’t even have needed to worry about the comment being shown in public, and in fact the clip isn’t even listed now.
clearly it was only to mislead the consumers and take such credit for maybe “inventing” the feature, because regular consumers out there wouldn’t even know this already exists on other device on the market.
oh, when somebody found out the tricky part, they’d just explain it like such: “the screen sizes are different”

however the truth is, when such statement appears within the current market right now, 99.99% of the consumers would absolutely translate it as “they are the first to invent such feature for the tablets”.
Notion Ink dropped the backside trackpad because they couldn’t get it to work correctly.
