Sure, if you want to get your old-school game on with your netbook, all you have to do is load up MAME and track down some classic arcade games. But if you want a slightly more authentic experience, and happen to have some free time and $349, you can convert your netbook or other small computer into a mini-game cabinet that looks like it was designed to hang out in the arcades of your squandered youth.

The Nanocade is a DIY kit that consists of 29 pieces of acrylic which can be assembled into an arcade game-style computer case. It’s designed to handle a 10 inch display and is the perfect size for anyone looking to disassemble a netbook and rearrange the pieces in a slightly less portable fashion. The upshot is you get a retro look and an old fashioned joystick experience for playing Pac-Man, Galaga, or other classics.

Sure, for $349, you could buy a whole second netbook. But really, can you put a price on fulfilling your childhood dream of having a video arcade in your own home?

The Nanocade should be available for purchase in late February.
