Online retailer Buy.com is running a deal that will let you snag an MSI Wind U100 netbook with a 160GB hard drive, 1GB of RAM and a 6 cell battery for $384.95 after rebate. That’s well below the list price, and about $40 cheaper than I’ve seen this model anywhere else this week.

  1. with rebates, mwave hasa better price currently after the $50 MIR the wind should be 379 plus whatever shipping you choose. i just bought my wind from them when it was 379 with no rebate and they were terribly prompt with the order

  2. I can’t say that I have had any problems with Buy.com.. I have gotten my MSi Wind, my 2GB ram upgrade, a wifi card, a new monitor all in the last few months all from buy.com, because everytime I look for something they always had the lowest price and usually have $5 two day shipping.. I also used Paypal and its very straight forward. Always got them on time or early.

So theres always contrast on every site as you can see with Mollie Dog’s experience.

You can also use a nice coupon https://www.buy.com/retail/coupon.asp?prid=84773074 but it doesnt work with Paypal.

  3. The real trick is getting buy.com to honor any mail in rebate or, in some instances, to actually ship what they advertise as being in stock. On those occasions when they do ship, it’s usually very late and sometimes not what was ordered. Doing business with this company can be hazardous to your bank account. Check their merchant ratings and you’ll go somewhere else to spend your money, We will not deal with buy.com in the future.
