MSI has been showing up at trade shows with 10 inch Android and Windows tablets for a good 18 months, but most of the prototypes we’ve seen have never made it to market. Now MSI is taking another try with the latest versions of the MSI WindPad 110 Windows tablet and WindPad 100A Android tablet.
MSI is showing off both tablets at CES this week, but the WindPad 110W is already up for pre-order from ExcaliberPC for $599.
The Windows tablet features a 10.1 inch, 1280 x 800 pixel IPS display, an AMD Brazos dual core processor and Radeon HD 6250 graphics. It runs Windows 7 Home Premium, has up to 64GB of storage and 2GB of RAM. It weighs 1.9 pounds, and MSI promises it will get up to 6 hours of run time using a 31 Whr battery. I’m skeptical but willing to be surprised.
The MSI WindPad 100A Android tablet has an ARM Cortex-A9 dual core processor, 1GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a g-sensor, ambient light sensor, and 802.11b/g/n WiFi. This model weighs in at 1.6 pounds. Like the Windows tablet, the WindPad 100A will have a 10.1 inch, 1280 x 800 pixel IPS display.
