Asus isn’t the only company beefing up its line of all-in-one desktops this week. Like Asus, MSI already an Intel Atom powered all-in-one that basically packs the guts of a netbook into an iMac-like case. The MSI Wind Top AE1900 has an 18.5 inch touchscreen display, Intel Atom processor, and goes for between $485 and $549 depending on the configuration.
Now MSI is adding the Wind Top AE2010 to its lineup. This model is a much more serious machine, with a 20 inch, 1600 x 900 pixel display, a 1.5GHz dual core AMD Athlon X2 processor, and ATI Radeon 3200 graphics. It has 4GB of RAM, and a 320GB hard drive. The AE2010 still isn’t going to win any awards for speed or graphics performance, but it should be able to handle a number of tasks that are beyond the capabilities of an Intel Atom 230 or 330 CPU.
The Wind Top AE2010 also has a tray-loading DVD Super Multi drive, a 4-in-1 card reader, 6 USB ports, an eSATA port, Ethernet, and VGA ports. it has 802.11b/g/n WiFi and a 1.3MP webcam. All told, not a bad deal for the $650 asking price. The AE2010 should be available next month.
