Motorola XOOM

Sure, it looks like a second-generation Motorola XOOM tablet is on the way, but if all you’re looking for is a XOOM with a 4G LTE wireless radio, it looks like the wait is over. Last month Motorola finally started offering 4G upgrades to customers that purchased 3G XOOM tablets. Now you can go ahead and buy a brand new XOOM 4G tablet.

Motorola is charging $499.99 for the tablet if you sign up for a 2-year service contract. You can also buy the XOOM 4G outright for $669.99.

The tablet is designed to work with Verizon’s LTE wireless network.

Aside from the 4G modem, this is the same tablet that’s been available since February. It has a 10.1 inch, 1280 x 800 pixel display, a 1 GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual core processor, and runs Google Android 3.1 Honeycomb. It has a 2MP front-facing camera and a 5MP rear camera, 1GB of RAM, and 32GB of flash storage.
