Motorola is pushing out the first software update for its XOOM tablet. The good news is that the update prepares the Android tablet to run Adobe Flash Player 10.2. The bad news is that Flash Player 10.2 still isn’t available for Android 3.0 Honeycomb, so you’ll have to wait a little while longer to actually start watching Flash video or playing Flash games on the tablet.

The software update can be downloaded as an over the air update using a WiFi or 3G connection.

The company says that if you’ve rooted the tablet or unlocked the bootloader you may not receive the update unless you roll back to the stock Motorola software.

Update: It looks like you won’t have to wait much longer to get flash on the XOOM. Adobe says it should be ready to roll on Friday, March 18th.
