Motorola is adding two new models to its Moto G line of budget/mid-range smartphones. The new Moto G10 is a 6.5 inch phone with a Qualcom Snapdragon 460 processor, 4GB of RAM, a starting price of around $180, and a 5,000 mAh battery that Motorola says should provide up to 2 days of battery life.
The new Moto G30 looks similar at first glance, but it has a faster Snapdragon 662 processor, 6GB of RAM, and higher resolution front and rear cameras. It also has a 90 Hz screen refresh rate, which isn’t bad for a phone set to sell for around $220.

Motorola hasn’t announced global pricing or availability details yet, but Motorola UK announced the new phones in a series of tweets, and I was able to put together a comparison table using specs from the Motorola UK website:

According to 9to5Google, both phones should be available in Europe within the next few months.
These appear to be generously equipped phones for the price. And finally we see 802.11ac on a non-flagship Motorola phone!
The G30 seems to be priced and equipped very similarly to the Samsung A21, which sells for the same price, roughly.
Except that the G30 offers more storage, RAM, higher wattage charging, has an IP-rating, and has a higher refresh screen.
This might be the peak of value for a phone in this price range.
OK, these seem to be good phones for the price (with a decent amount of storage and RAM). I’m not up to date on the latest Qualcomm chips but the 6xx series used to be the good one. Given the price.
I’m sorry to be a bore and to repeat myself but why do affordable phones these days come in one size and one size only, XL?

I agree completely about the jumbo-sizes of budget phones. I would honestly jump at the very next sub-$400 smartphone with a screen size below 5.5″. I think there is a HUGE missed opportunity in the Android phone market right now to sell something that competes with the iPhone SE in price and physical dimensions.
My dream phone would be 5.0 to 5.5 inch screen, screen bezels similar to the S10e, Micro SD slot, headphone jack, a body made of Otterbox-like materials, and very thick size to support a battery above 6000mAh.
