The Rikomagic MK802 IV is a small box that you can plug into a TV to run Android apps on a big screen. It’s a speedy little guy, featuring a Rockchip RK3188 ARM Cortex-A9 quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, and 8GB of storage.

As you probably guessed from the Roman numeral IV in its name, this isn’t Rikomagic’s first foray into the Android mini PC space. The company’s first MK802 came out over a year ago, and it was one of the first devices of its type to hit the market. Since then there have been dozens, maybe hundreds of others.

The MK802 IV is much more powerful than that first model, but it’s just about as hackable — something that was a key selling point for the original. There are custom ROMs for the MK802 IV, and even early builds of Ubuntu Linux that can run on the device.

The folks at retailer W2Comp loaned me a demo unit recently, and after cracking open the case to fix the WiFi performance, I can report that the MK802 IV works pretty much as promised.

Since W2Comp doesn’t want the stick back, I’m going to give it away to one lucky reader. If you don’t win, keep in mind, you can always buy an MK802 IV from W2Comp yourself for $58.

Here’s how to win this lightly used MK802 IV.

That’s the bold print. Here’s the fine print (handily written in the same font size as everything else on this page):

  • A winner will be randomly selected from all valid entries.
  • This contest is only open to residents of the United States, or contestants that have a US shipping address.
  • If you’ve won another Liliputing contest in the last 60 days, write for Liliputing, or are a close friend or family member of someone who does, you’re disqualified.
  • Please leave only one comment. If I catch you leaving two or more, I’ll throw out all your entries.
  • Make sure to use a valid email address, Facebook, Twitter, or Google+ account to leave your comment — and make sure to check your messages.
  • Once a winner is selected, that person has 48 hours to respond. If we don’t receive a reply, we’ll pick another winner.

Thanks again to W2Comp for providing this demo unit.

Update: Congratulations to our winner, Andy T!
