The Rikomagic MK802 IV is a small box that you can plug into a TV to run Android apps on a big screen. It’s a speedy little guy, featuring a Rockchip RK3188 ARM Cortex-A9 quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, and 8GB of storage.
As you probably guessed from the Roman numeral IV in its name, this isn’t Rikomagic’s first foray into the Android mini PC space. The company’s first MK802 came out over a year ago, and it was one of the first devices of its type to hit the market. Since then there have been dozens, maybe hundreds of others.
The MK802 IV is much more powerful than that first model, but it’s just about as hackable — something that was a key selling point for the original. There are custom ROMs for the MK802 IV, and even early builds of Ubuntu Linux that can run on the device.
The folks at retailer W2Comp loaned me a demo unit recently, and after cracking open the case to fix the WiFi performance, I can report that the MK802 IV works pretty much as promised.
Since W2Comp doesn’t want the stick back, I’m going to give it away to one lucky reader. If you don’t win, keep in mind, you can always buy an MK802 IV from W2Comp yourself for $58.
Here’s how to win this lightly used MK802 IV.

That’s the bold print. Here’s the fine print (handily written in the same font size as everything else on this page):
- A winner will be randomly selected from all valid entries.
- This contest is only open to residents of the United States, or contestants that have a US shipping address.
- If you’ve won another Liliputing contest in the last 60 days, write for Liliputing, or are a close friend or family member of someone who does, you’re disqualified.
- Please leave only one comment. If I catch you leaving two or more, I’ll throw out all your entries.
- Make sure to use a valid email address, Facebook, Twitter, or Google+ account to leave your comment — and make sure to check your messages.
- Once a winner is selected, that person has 48 hours to respond. If we don’t receive a reply, we’ll pick another winner.
Thanks again to W2Comp for providing this demo unit.
Update: Congratulations to our winner, Andy T!
Thanks
I’ll have a bit of that!

What a sweet giveaway.
It is mine, RIKOMAGIC.
Dope would love to see how it compares to my second gen one
Yes, please.
Mark it for me.
Sounds great, how does this compare to a Chromecast?
chromecast function is to push the video, music… from table or phone to the big screen, it is DLNA or air play function. Android mini pc also supprts it. What is more, mini pc has a lot of functions which chromecast didnt have. This is the advantages.
Would be great to win one

It is good to see power getting smaller and smaller. Also to all those that have android phones ;rooting, and custom roms are the way to go.I think that it is always best to try to get the most out of your device.Just search androidforums, and see what they have.
Wow, yes please. That would be so cool. I’ve thought about getting one of the several times but just never could decide if it would be right for me. There are so many options competing for attention. I’ve been following your blog for a while and I don’t think better info exists anywhere.
Would be great to see if it is as great as my little ug802.

Brad, this is my second comment please don’t disqualify my previous entry. Just letting you know you linked to the MK802 III not the MK802 IV on w2comp.com. The price for the MK802 IV is $86 not $58. Here is the link to the MK802 IV:
https://www.w2comp.com/itm/699678/74585/hd-media-players/android-tv-box/rikomagic-mk802-iv-quad-core-android-4-2-mini-pc-rockchip-rk3188-2g-ddr3-wifi-bt-mk802-iv?subcatid=51474
I’ve been seeing a lot of articles of neat little projects built around these rockchip-based systems. They seem like a cool little thing to tweak with.
