The makers of the Misfit Shine and Flash fitness trackers have have launched new software called Misfit Link that lets you use those devices to control your smartphone’s camera or music player.

Don’t have a Misfit device yet? No problem: the company is launching its cheapest model yet: The Misfiti Flash Link launches today for $20, making it one of the cheapest wearable gadgets around.

Looking for something a little more powerful or stylish? The Misfit Shine and Flash are getting price cuts too.

The Shine is now available for $70, which is $30 off its original price, while the Flash now sells for $30 (which is $20 off). Both devices are fitness trackers with long battery life, but the Shine has an aluminum case, while the Flash is made of plastic.

The new $20 model seems to have most of the features of the original Flash, including a 6-month battery, Bluetooth Low Energy support, and the ability to store up to 30 days worth of data between synchronization jobs. The main difference seems to be that it comes with a clip but no sport band, so you’ll need to buy a separate band if you want to wear the Flash Link like a bracelet.

All three of Misfit’s devices are now compatible with a mobile app that lets you snap a photo on your phone, control music from apps including Spotify and Pandora and control slideshow presentations.

The Misfit Link app is available today for iOS. An Android version should be available in August. Future updates will add support for Logitech Harmony and IFTTT, among other things.

  1. At this price, if its free shipping in USA, it gives MiBand run for its money!
MiBand seems to have non-existant support from Xiaomi.

  2. “The main difference seems to be that it doesn’t come with a clip but no sport band”

I think you mean it comes with a clip but no sport band?
