MINISFORUM has been making small form-factor desktop computers for a few years at this point, but the company has recently started cranking up the horsepower, first by launching models with high-performance processors, and more recently introducing mini PCs with support for discrete graphics, although the first MINISFORUM PC with that option requires an external graphics dock.
The new MINISFORUM Neptune HX90G doesn’t. It’s a compact computer with an AMD Radeon RX 6650M mobile discrete GPU baked in.
MINISFORUM plans to offer multiple configurations of the HX90G, but the first to launch will pair AMD’s discrete GPU with an AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX processor. In the future the company expects to offer models with Ryzen 9 6900HX and 12th-gen Intel Alder Lake-H processor options.
All models will stuff those components inside a 2.8 liter chassis with dual cooling fans, 7 heat pipes (3 for the CPU and 4 for the GPU) and liquid metal applied to the CPU and graphics.
The computer comes with a 260W power adapter, which should be enough to deliver the 50W required by the CPu and up to 100W used by the AMD Radeon GPU.
Inside the computer there are two SODIMM slots for dual-channel DDR4 memory, two PCIe 3.0 slots for storage, and an M.2 2230 slot for a wireless card.

MINISFORUM hasn’t announced pricing or a release date for the Neptune HX90G yet.
9/16/2022 Update: The EliteMini HX90G is now up for pre-order for $799 and up, but it will ship this fall with an AMD Radeon 6600M processor rather than Radeon 6650M.
Interesting, it’s about time someone did this with an AMD system. Pricing will probably come in high for market but I guess we’ll see.
I would buy this in a flash IF it had two USB-C ports
