Gone are the days of subtle, minimalist design. Instead, neon is the new black. At least, that is what Microsoft is hoping for. The company’s new Qi compatible wireless charger will brighten your life, or at least your room.
The Nokia DT-903 Smart Wireless Charging Plate is a Qi compatible device that allows users to simply drop their smartphones on top to begin charging. Oh, one added bonus is the brightly glowing ring around the base.
It connects to any USB port for power. It does not come with a wall plug adaptor. But, these days, who doesn’t already own at least one USB wall plug adaptor?
The glowing neon base has an added benefit for Windows phone owners. You can pair a compatible Windows phone (the Nokia Lumia 720, 810, 822, 920, 928, and 1520, or 820, 925 and 1020 with charging cover, and the HTC 8X) via NFC or Bluetooth to configure blinking patterns that will notify you of missed calls, app alerts, and more.
It will even let you know if your phone battery is low so you remember to charge it.
The glowing base does have night mode and can be turned of entirely thanks to a button on the bottom.

The DT-903 does work with any Qi compatible smartphone, sans the glow, as noted by The Verge. However, reviewer Chris Welch tested the charger using a Nexus 6 and pointed out that it was “super finicky” with the non-Windows smartphone.
The Nokia DT-903 costs $59 and is available now through Microsoft.
If you are looking for a Qi compatible wireless charger, but don’t own a Windows phone, or simply don’t like the neon look, the Mugen Power Battery may be more to your liking.

Wow who did they find with a Windows phone for the pics?
If that thing didn’t have a night mode, i wouldn’t even concider it. My tech at home has to be as unobtrusive as possible. I even decided on my PC Monitor on the criteria that i could disable the power LED so it is completely dark while it is still on, but in Standby.
Yeah I don’t know if I want to consider something that slowly drains your battery all for the point to remind you to charge your battery and glow.. pointlessly. I mean $59 for a charger is pretty ridiculous.
Yeah, but it GLOWS!!! 😉
