The first Microsoft Surface tablet goes on sale at midnight on October 26th, 2012. But if you’re really bored, you can sift through documents related to the tablet that Microsoft has already submitted to the FCC.  They appeared on the FCC website today.

Microsoft Surface tablet

While the documents don’t refer to the tablet by name, they describe a Tablet Computer manufactured by Microsoft running the Windows RT operating system. I’m pretty sure there aren’t a lot of devices that meet that description.

The documents also mention USB, Ethernet, Bluetooth, and 802.11a/b/g/n WiFi.

In other words there are no surprises in the documents, and the really juicy stuff is hidden away behind a confidentiality request. So we probably won’t see internal photos of the tablet until well after it’s released (and probably torn apart by iFixit).
