Dell may have decided that 11.6 inch gaming laptops aren’t as cool as they once were… but Maingear is ready to pick up where Dell left off when it decided to end the Alienware M11x line of ultraportable gaming rigs.
Engadget reports that Maingear will launch the Pulse 11 notebook on June 3rd with prices starting at $1099.
The laptop will feature an 11.6 inch, 1366 x 768 pixel display, an Ivy Bridge processor, NVIDIA GeForce GT650M graphics, and up to 16GB of DDR3 memory.
The base model will have just 8GB of RAM and a Core i5 processor… but that NVIDIA graphics card has 2GB of dedicated memory, so I don’t think you’ll have problems running most modern video games on the $1099 system.
Maingear is also throwing in HDMI 1.4A, THX audio, and USB 3.0.
The Maingear Pulse 11 may not be the cheapest 11.6 inch ultraportable around. But it might just be the best option for serious gaming on the go.
Update: As The Verge points out, this is a rebranded version of the new Clevo W110ER and it may show up under a few different brand names in the coming months.
