Microsoft offers a range of Lumia smartphones including high-end models with full HD screens, high-res cameras, and other premium features. There are also entry-level models like the recently released Lumia 435 which has more modest specs and sells for just $80.

But Microsoft is going even lower: the new Lumia 430 Dual SIM is a $70 smartphone, making it the lowest-cost member of Microsoft’s smartphone family to date.

Not surprisingly, the Lumia 430 Dual SIM is a lot like the Lumia 435. Both phones feature 4 inch, 800 x 480 pixel display, 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage, microSD card slots, 2MP rear, and 0.3MP fixed-focus front cameras.

The Dual SIM model has a slightly smaller battery (1500 mAh rather than 1560 mAh), and offers up to 8.4 hours of talk time over 3G rather than 11.7 hours.

On the other hand, the phone costs $10 less and offers support for multiple SIM cards, which lets you use the same phone on two different networks without swapping cards or changing any settings. Those are both features that could make the phone attractive to customers in developing markets.

The design of the phone is also slightly different, with rounder corners replacing the somewhat more boxy design of the Lumia 435.

While there are certainly smartphones on the market with better specs, the Lumia 430 Dual SIM is an entry-level device with the kind of price tag you’d expect from a feature phone (or maybe a Firefox OS phone). It also has at least one feature plenty of people would like to see on higher-priced smartphones: a replaceable battery.

  1. MS should stop at 80$. We don’t need cripplephones! 435 is enough. They don’t need to flood (like Sammy) the low end smartphone market, instead they should try to offer more quality for the same price (for ex MS L435)

  2. Wow nice one. I expected 435 with this price. But happy they are releasing 430.
If Microsoft comes with even less price ₹ 4000 or less. ( decrease screen size to 3.8 and give 700( 800 ram is better) with dual core and dual cam and dual sim. Am sure most of the Android low end phones will die. Please Microsoft work hard to give phones for less than ₹4000.
