If you have a little one that is always taking apart your electronics in order to see how they work, littleBits has something that will keep your gadgets intact while satisfying your tyke’s urge to invent.

It’s called the Gizmos and Gadgets Kit and it comes with enough stuff to make 12 DIY tech projects, including a mini pinball arcade, a bubble machine, and even a wireless doorbell.

LittleBits Gadgets and Gizmos Kit

Starting with the base, which is a LEGO style board where the different components are connected, you can add stuff like a light sensor, fan, five-channel wireless transmitter, and more. There are 15 different electronics components, plus accessories, like wheels and mounts, and of course, the much-needed 9-volt battery.

It also comes with a 23-page instruction booklet with everything you need to know to build each of the 12 projects. You can download the PDF of the booklet for free. So, if your little inventor already has the skills to know how to reuse existing components from around the house, the booklet could serve as a source for inspiration.

Speaking of inspiration, there’s an app for that. The company just launched the littleBits Invent app (currently only on iOS), which lets inventors explore other’s projects for inspiration. You can earn badges for projects you’ve completed, watch step-by-step tutorials, and connect with other DIY tech fans in the littleBits global community.

The Gizmos and Gadgets Kit costs $200 and includes free shipping in the US when you order from the company’s website. It will also be available later this year exclusively at Barnes & Noble.
