Gaming accessory maker Mad Catz is officially in the game console business. The company’s M.O.J.O. game console is now available for $250 from the Mad Catz Store or from Newegg.
It’s a small box with an NVIDIA Tegra 4 ARM Cortex-A15 quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, Android software, WiFi, Bluetooth, Ethernet, Bluetooth, and a few USB ports. It also comes with a wireless controller.
That all sounds pretty nice, but the micro-console is also 2.5 times the price of its closest competitor, the Ouya. Sure, it has a faster processor and supports the full Google Play Store, which means you can play pretty much any Android game (that works with a wireless gamepad). But that’s still a lot of money for an Android game console at a time when most Android games are designed for phones or tablets and not TVs.
Here’s a roundup of tech news from around the web.
- Mad Catz MOJO micro-console game system now available for $250

Remember how excited folks were about the return of the Start Button in Windows 8.1… until they realized it just took you to the Start Screen? It looks like Microsoft might be taking the hint, and separating the desktop and Metro user interfaces a bit more in the next version of Windows by bringing back a Start Menu. Interestingly, the two UIs also might come closer together, with the ability to run Metro apps in desktop windows. [WinSuperSite] - Oppo N1 smartphone now available for $599 and up (unlocked)

$250 for a game console that has few good games? No, thanks.
I’ll just save some money for a next-gen console like PS4 or Xbox One.
Too expensive is rather double up and buy a steam machine
how does this product make any sense? I’d say your better off buying a Tegra Note at this point. It has HDMI and you can get an Xbox 360 controller very cheaply since it is being replaced..definitely more value for your money.
A touchpad on the controller would really make a lot of sense for this thing. Then all the touch only games might be playable.
If they are using bluetooth then you could pair an Ouya controller with it.
The Ouya controller plays nice with other devices.
Hard to see this selling when the shield is now for sale at the exact same price. Sure it’s a handheld, but it can also be plugged into a tv . Comparing the two HW wise, the shield seems a much better deal bonus of a screen , battery, portable etc.
