The LG G Flex is a smartphone with a curved display and a gently sloped body. While LG initially promoted the design as something that would help the phone conform to your face (or back pocket), it turns out the phone also really does flex.

LG has released a video showing some of the phone’s most unusual features, including its ability to recover from light scratches and to bounce back into shape if it gets flattened by accident.

While it would be nice to see how the phone holds up under real-world conditions, the video does make the phone’s hallmark features look pretty good.

If you sit on it or drop a weight on it, the phone can basically straighten out and then spring back to its original shape. And the “self healing” elastic on the back panel seems to work as well — scratch the phone with a wire brush, and light scratches will disappear in a matter of minutes.

In related news, the usually reliable @evleaks reports that the G Flex will be headed to US wireless carriers including AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile.

The phone features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, a 6 inch, 1280 x 720p pixel OLED display, a 13MP rear camera, 2.1MP front-facing camera, and support for 24-bit/192 KHz audio. It has a 3500mAh battery.
