The LG X120 may still not have a proper name (the company has been running a Watchamacallit contest to come up with a better name than “netbook” for the past month or so), but the mini-laptop is making its way onto the streets. Engadget grabbed an LG X120 complete with retail packaging, and then proceeded to post some photos of the laptop coming out of said box.
For some reason, LG decided to make the lid and bottom of the case matte, while putting a glossy polish on the interior. Yay fingerprints! The screen looks fairly glossy too. Yay glare!
Aside from the shiny bits of plastic, the LG X120 does look rather attractive. The keyboard has two nice, large shift keys, and the touchpad has two distinct buttons below it to register right and left clicks. Spec-wise, the mini-laptop has a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU, a 10.1 inch, 1024 x 576 pixel display, 1GB of RAM, and a 160GB hard drive. It measures 10.4″ x 7″ x 1.3″ and weighs 2.6 pounds.
When are the freakin’ designers gonna learn that glossy looks great out of the box for about 10 seconds and then after that the fingerprints show worse than Roy ( I.T. Crowd ) at a black tie affair???
