Lenovo is updating its ThinkPad 10 Windows tablet with a new model sporting a choice of an Intel Atom X5 (Z8500) or X7 (Z8700) Cherry Trail processor.
Like last year’s model, the new ThinkPad 10 features a 10.1 inch, 1920 x 1200 pixel display, support for a range of accessories, and support for features you usually don’t find on small Windows tablets, including up to 4GB of RAM and up to 128GB of solid state storage.
The new Lenovo ThinkPad 10 should be available this summer for $549 and up.
Like other members of the ThinkPad family, this tablet is aimed at business customers, but it should be available for anyone willing to pay a premium price for a tablet designed for the enterprise market.
Optional features included 3G or 4G cellular data, dTPM encryption, a smart card reader or fingerprint scanner, and optional anti-glare screen.
Lenovo will offer a range of optional accessories including a $110 Folio Keyboard, a $119 Ultrabook keyboard, a $129 tablet dock, and a $40 ThinkPad Pen Pro
There’s also a $45 QuickShot Cover, which lets you fire up the camera just by folding down a flap over the lens.
The new Lenovo Thinkpad 10 supports 802.11ac WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, and has micro HDMI, microSD, and USB 3.0 ports, a 32 Wh battery for up to 10 hours of run time, and 5MP rear and 1.2MP front cameras. The tablet measures 10.1″ x 7″ x 0.35″ and weighs about 1.4 pounds.
