Last fall Lenovo launched a series of 8, 10, and 13 inch tablets with long battery life, built-in kickstands, and a choice of Windows or Android software. They were all branded under the Yoga Tablet 2 name.

Now it looks like the company may be preparing to launch new models under the Yoga Tablet 3 name.

Recently an unannounced device called the Lenovo YT3-850M showed up at the FCC, and it’s not hard to imagine that “YT3” stands for Yoga Tablet 3.

Not convinced? Benchmark results for an unannounced tablet called the Yoga Tablet 3 870 also made their way to the GFXBench website recently. The specs seem a little fish (I doubt the tablet really has a 4.4 inch display), but the model number suggests that both this tablet and the model that showed up at the FCC could be variations of a new 8 inch Yoga tablet.

If you believe the GFXBench details, it looks like the new tablet will have a 1280 x 800 pixel display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. It runs Google Android 5.0 software.

In other words, this tablet might be cheaper alternative to the 8 inch Yoga Tablet 2, which has a full HD display, an Intel Atom Z3745 processor, and a starting price of about $200.
