Update: It turns out this was a concept design that Lenovo put out two years ago. It never went into production.

Lenovo has posted a series of images of an upcoming portable device called the Pocket Yoga on Flickr. This appears to be the same mystery device that was first spotted last week.

At first glance, the Pocket Yoga looks an awful lot like the Sony Vaio P. It has what appears to be a close to full sized keyboard but no touchpad or wrist area. And the display is significantly longer than it is tall. There’s a pointing device in the upper right hand area of the keyboard, but the images seem to indicate that this isn’t the only way to interact with the device — there’s one picture showing a person holding a stylus up to the display. And there’s a concept drawing that shows about half a dozen Pocket Yoga configurations, surrounded by styluses (styli?). So I think it’s safe to say we’re looking at a touchscreen device.

There’s no word on the price, specifications, physical dimensions, or weight yet. But there is a picture of a Pocket Yoga fitting somewhat comfortably into a back pocket.

  1. I just read the “UPDATE” about this only being some reference design Lenovo came out with two years ago. So I guess this is not a pre-production product? Somebody at Lenovo is kicking themselves in the butt for not moving forward with designs like this or similar. Asus is the one that cornered the market and then Acer stole their thunder but Lenovo is really just an afterthought in terms of total units sold. Too bad… History only remembers the winners.

  2. Good luck reading on that tiny of a thing not to mention all the fun you’d have with the glare on the screen.

  3. Those dark rectangles could be assumed to be USB connectors – –
Measure in units of USB connector – at least those are probably human hands. 😉

  4. Let it be a cheap ARM based mid and I am very happy, Snapdragon or similar. But looking at the pictures I can say that atleast that model won’t be cheap

  5. The rise of the purse-book computer. Maybe it is me but these things seem aimed at women.

I can only imagine the meeting to pitch this, “Women will love it! It is small, compact enough to fit in a small purse, and …ummm well it looks like a Maxi-Pad.”
