The Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro isn’t the only new member of the Yoga family. Lenovo is also rolling out a new business-friendly version with a magnesium alloy case and support for some enterprise-friendly features including an optional digital pen and digitizer, and optional TPM and NFC modules.

But even if you’re not in business, there are a few reasons to consider the ThinkPad Yoga rather than a consumer model. It has a smaller, 12.5 inch display. And it has a new lift-and-lock keyboard that complete gets out of the way when you’re using this convertible notebook as a tablet.

The ThinkPad Yoga should be available soon for $949 and up.

Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga

Like other Yoga devices you can use the Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga as a laptop or push the screen back 360 degrees so it’s resting below the keyboard for use in tablet mode.

But while earlier models simply disable the keyboard to prevent accidental key presses in tablet mode, the ThinkPad Yoga basically makes the keyboard go away. That’s because the frame around the keyboard actually rises until it’s flush with the keys, giving the back of the tablet a flat surface.

There are also rubber bumpers on the edges so you can place the tablet flat on a table or desk without worrying about scuffing it.

The ThinkPad Yoga supports up to 256GB of solid state storage or 1TB of hard disk space, will be available with up to an Intel Core i7 Haswell processor, and offers up to 8 hours of battery life. It has 2 USB 3.0 ports, and HDMI port, and a Lenovo OneLink port that lets you connect the laptop to a docking station for charging and using additional accessories.

Lenovo will offer models with 1366 x 768 pixel or 1920 x 1080 pixel displays. All versions will come with Windows 8.1 and feature Dragon voice control software from Nuance.
