Lenovo’s ThinkPad X1 Yoga is a convertible laptop with a 14 inch screen, support for pen and finger input, and an option for an OLED display.
First launched at CES 2016, Lenovo is giving the notebook/tablet hybrid a bit of an upgrade at CES 2017.
The new model is available with up to an Intel Core i7 Kaby Lake-U processor, and some models will feature Intel HD 620 graphics, while others will be available with more powerful Intel Iris Plus 640 graphics.
Lenovo offers three touchscreen display options:
- 1920 x 1080 pixel IPS, 270 nits
- 2560 x 1440 pixel IPS , 270 nits
- 2560 x 1440 pixel OLED, 300 nits
While the OLED option should offer more vibrant colors and deeper blacks, Lenovo says a 2017 ThinkPad X1 Yoga with an OLED display gets up to 10.5 hours of battery life, while the models with IPS displays are said to last for up to 16 hours.
The OLED model also measures 0.69 inches thick and weighs about 3 pounds. Models with IPS screens are 0.67 inches thick and about 3.1 pounds.
The notebook supports up to 16GB of RAM, up to 1TB of solid state storage, and comes with a digital pen that can be docked in the notebook when it’s not in use. There’s a 720p webcam, and Lenovo offers an optional IR camera for Windows Hello logins.
Lenovo equips the ThinkPad X1 Yoga with two Thunderbolt 3 ports, three USB 3.0 ports, HDMI and Ethernet jacks, a microSD card slot, and a microSIM card slot for models with LTE. There’s also optional support for NFC.
The ThinkPad X1 Yoga will be available in black and silver colors options when the notebook goes on sale in February. Prices are expected to start at $1499.
