Lenovo’s first ThinkPad tablet to run Google Android will ship on August 23rd for $479 and up. While launch day is still a few weeks away, the tablet showed up at the FCC website this week.
At this point there’s not much to see unless your a connoisseur of fine FCC identification labels. The diagram showing the label location dos give an overview of the back of the tablet, complete with Lenovo and ThinkPad branding, a rear-facing camera, and a few ports or buttons along the sides. But we’ve already seen most of those details in the official press pictures.
I also learned from the listing that the tablet will be manufactured for Lenovo by Taiwanese device maker Compal and that it will have the model name TP00028AA. It uses a 7.4V battery, and the tablet will support Bluetooth 2.1, but not Bluetooth 3.0.
really? now i wonder, do bluetooth devices connect regardless of what version you have? or are models made specifically to run with 1.0, 2.x, 3.0?
The numbers need to match. Luckily you can achieve pairing this with device multiplication. Two 1.0 devices can connect with one 2.0 device. For a 2.0 and a 3.0 device, you’ll need three of the former and two of the latter. The real problem comes with the fractional 2.x series. Trying to connect a 2.1 to a 3.0 means you’ll need 90 2.1 devices (90×2.1=189) and 21 3.0 devices (21×3.0=189). I hope you have big pockets 😉
