Lenovo may have stopped selling its latest 8 inch Windows tablets in the United States, but the company says it’s not getting out of the small Windows tablet business altogether.

Now it looks like there’s a new model called the Lenovo Miix 3 on the way.

miix 3

An unannounced tablet called the Lenovo Miix 3-830 showed up at the Postel website recently. That’s the Indonesian equivalent of the FCC, and it’s the same place we recently saw the first mention of a Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro tablet.

There aren’t many details about the tablet at the moment, but the name and model number suggest it’ll be a next-gen 8 inch tablet with Windows software.

The Lenovo Miix 2 tablet was a low-cost model with an 8 inch, 1280 x 800 pixel display, 2GB of RAM, at least 32GB of storage, and an Intel Atom Z3740 processor. While Lenovo no longer sells the tablet through its own store a number of retailers are still selling the tablet for $200 or less.

It’s not clear if the new model will feature improvements such as a higher-resolution display or a different processor. Lenovo could also take a different approach by offering an entry-level device with a lower price tag and less impressive specs.

Microsoft now makes it possible for Windows to run reasonably well on tablets with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of storage and a growing number of tablets with those specs, plus a cheap Intel Atom Z3735 series processor are starting to hit the streets.
