Lenovo’s latest low-cost tablet is now available in the US for $149.99. That makes the Lenovo IdeaTab A2107 $49 cheaper than a Google Nexus 7 or $9 less than a 2nd-generation Amazon kindle Fire.

But before you pull out your wallet, you might want to take a look at the specs for the Lenovo tablet. It’s clearly designed as a budget device.

Lenovo IdeaTab A2107

The IdeaTab A2107 has a 7 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel display with support for 4-point multitouch. It has a 1 GHz MTK 6575 ARM Cortex-A9 single core processor.

The version available for purchase in the US has 512MB of RAM and 8GB of storage. It runs Google Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

You can buy the IdeaTab A2107 from at least two US retailers at the moment:

Canadian retailer NCIX also recently posted a product page for the tablet, but it doesn’t appear to be available for purchase yet.

  1. For the price, this is a nice tablet. I just bought one at Staples (it was the only 7 inch tablet they had in stock). It’s an 8 GB model, so that isn’t much, but it has the micro-SD memory card slot. The screen is sharp and bright, it’s Ice Cream Sandwich, not the latest, but very recent Android. One surprise: no documentation, not even a quick start guide, nothing. I went to the Lenovo web site and searched, nothing, no user manual. (only a safety manual) If you’d never used an Android tablet, this would be a difficult table to start with. For an experienced user, it’s no problem.

  2. Muntaser: This model is not an android phone, normal voice calls can’t be made. But you CAN use Skype to make voice calls. Skype comes preloaded on the A2107

    1. if you use a program like talkatone or grooveip you can – i’m using it on the nexus 7 and phone calls work fine.
