In January Lenovo unveiled the IdeaPad S100 mini-laptop as the company’s net 10 inch netbook. Six months later the little guy has yet to ship. But it’s finally up for pre-order at Amazon which seems to be a good indication that the S100 could arrive soon.
The IdeaPad S100 has a starting price of $329.99 for a model with a 10 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel display and a 1.66 GHz Intel Atom N455 processor. Lenovo is also expected to offer a dual core version with an Atom N570 chip.
The netbook has 1GB of DDR3 memory, a 250GB hard drive and Windows 7 Starter Edition. It also has a tiny touchpad without any physical left and right buttons. I wasn’t that impressed with the touchpad design when I saw this little laptop earlier this year, but at least Lenovo users the extra space alloted by the tiny touchpad to offer a reasonably large keyboard for a 10 inch netbook.
