Jolicloud will likely launch the next version of Joli OS, a light-weight, web-centric operating system for netbooks and other computers this week. Today the company is outlining some of the changes in store for Joli OS 1.2.

There aren’t any huge changes to the user interface, but Jolicloud is bringing a few important new features to the OS. First, there’s a file browser, allowing you to access local files stored on your hard drive or removable flash drives, SD cards or other media from within the Jolicloud interface.

There’s also a new guest mode, which allows anyone to login to your computer running Joli OS as a guest. Their files and settings will be removed when they log out, and if they have a Jolicloud account they can access their desktop from your computer just by signing in with their credentials.

Joli OS 1.2 will also use the Chromium 10 web browser and Adobe Flash Player 10.2. The operating system will be able to automatically download updates in the background. And you’ll be able to configure Joli OS to support one-click automatic logins.
