LG may be planning to launch a smartphone with two screens… on the same side of the phone. The LG V10 is said to have a small, secondary “ticker” display above the primary screen.

This could be used to show notifications, app icons, or other details even when the primary screen is turned off or running full-screen apps.

The phone passed through China’s TENAA website recently, and now Evan Blass has posted a picture that gives us a better idea of what the LG V10 could look like.

There aren’t a lot of details about the phone at this point, but the front-facing camera seems to be built into the same panel as the ticker display.

LG is holding a press event on October 1st, so it’s possible we’ll learn more about the V10 in a few weeks. Until then, all we’ve got are rumors and leaks… but if you believe those, then the phone may have a 2560 x 1440 pixel display, 3GB of RAM, a 16MP rear camera, and a 5MP front camera.

  1. You could just use an AMOLED screen and use only the top part as the ticker. I guess the idea was that the small display would use up less battery but so does using a small part of an AMOLED.
