Intel’s next-gen chips for Android phones and tablets are 22nm, 64-bit chips with clock speeds up to 2.13 GHz. The Intel Atom Z3460 and Atom Z3480 “Merrifield” processors offer better performance and potentially longer battery life than the “Clover Trail+” chips they’ll replace.
Intel is also showing a series of benchmarks suggesting that the new chips compare favorably to the latest Qualcomm and Apple mobile processors. And if that’s not good enough for you, Intel is also looking ahead to the launch of its next-next gen “Moorefield” chips which are due out later in 2014.
The new Atom Z34xx chips feature PowerVR G6400 graphics, support for up to 4GB of RAM, and support for 13MP cameras with 1080p60 video recording.
Merrifield chips also feature the new Intel XMM 7160 LTE modem capable of LTE download speeds up to 150Mbps and HSPA+ speeds up to 42 MBps.
Intel says the chips support Android 4.4.2 Jelly Bean and are ready to handle future versions of Android as well.
The 1.6 GHz Intel Atom Z3460 dual-core chip and 2.13 GHz Atom Z3840 dual-core model are both due out in the first half of 2014. Intel plans to launch quad-core versions code-named “Moorefield” later this year.
Moorefield chips are based on the same architecture, but the upcoming 1.8 GHz Atom Z3560 and 2.33 GHz Atom Z3580 will offer higher performance and faster graphics thanks to their PowerVR G6430 graphics.

so intel still can’t figure out to squeeze their own graphic chip inside a phone
Looking like Intel has a pretty nice lead on the 64bit chips. Can’t wait for these to start shipping in products!
