Sure, it feels like we’ve been waiting forever for the Notion Ink Adam tablet with a Pixel Qi screen to hit the streets. But it’s not the only game in town. A company called Innoversal is showing off a 10 inch Windows tablet with a Pixel Qi 3qi display at Computex this week.

The Innoversal Lattice has a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 processor and a 10.1 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel touchscreen display. Because it’s a Pixel Qi screen, you can shut off the backlight and the screen is still readable. The benefit is that the display uses much less power in this mode, and theoretically it should be easier to see outdoors. But Charbax at ARMdevices shot a little video of the Innoversal Lattice in action, and I have to say, the touchscreen layer seems to reflect a lot of glare. I’m not sure how good this tablet would look in bright sunlight.

Rounding out the specs are a 6 cell, 58Whr, 5300mAh battery, a solid state disk (up to 64GB), 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0, and a 3G modem. The tablet can run Windows, Linux, or Google Chrome (although Chrome isn’t available yet, clearly). The Innoversal Lattice measures 9.8″ x 6.9″ x 0.5″.

There’s no word on pricing or a release date.

Update: Engadget reports that the tablet could hit the streets for between $530 and $550 by September.

  1. Where is the HDMI output? Fix the glossy screen and this is lookin good. Serious competition for Notion Ink’s ADAM.

  2. Shame it’s Atom based (if it exists in a production-viable state at all). Although the screen will be more versatile, its frugality will be pointless coupled to such a power-hungry (compared with ARM) CPU and chipset.
