As expected, Indamixx has started taking orders for its new slate computer loaded with music production software. The Indamixx2 looks like your typical Atom-powered tablet, with a 10.1 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel multitouch display and a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 CPU. But the computer comes with 2GB of RAM, a 250GB hard drive, and most importantly, the Indamixx software suite which comes with dozens of applications and digital effects for creating, editing, and playing music on the go.

The Indamixx2 tablet is available with Windows 7 for $779, or for $699 with MeeGo Linux. While you could certainly find a cheaper tablet, what you’re paying for in this case is the Indamixx software suite which combines open source and proprietary apps for music creation. The company has been selling netbooks, notebooks, and other devices with its custom blend of music software for a few years. The hardware is often off-the-shelf, but it’s the music production software which makes these products stand out.

It’s worth noting that the company is describing its latest tablets as “beta” products, so don’t be surprised if there are still a few kinks to work out.
