Huawei’s new 7 inch tablet should be available in Europe in October for 249 Euros, or about $312 US.
We first heard about the Huawei MediaPad 7 Lite last month, but the company hadn’t made price and availability information available until this week.
The tablet features a 7 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel IPS display, a 1.2 GHz ARM Cortex-A8 processor, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of storage.
It runs Google Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and features 802.11n WiFi and Bluetooth 3.0 wireless connectivity.
While the tablet costs about 50 percent more than a Google Nexus 7, it has a few features Google’s tablet does not, including an metal unibody case, front and rear cameras, and 3G capabilities, letting you connect to mobile broadband networks. The tablet will also be able to send text messages.
There’s still no word on whether thisMediaPad 7 Lite will be available in the US.
Huawei has also unveiled some price and launch details for the 10 inch MediaPad 10 FHD tablet with a 1920 x 1200 pixel display. That model will launch in Europe in October for 429 Euros ($538).
