Huawei appears to be working on a smartphone with a 1.7 GHz octa-core processor, 16GB of storage, and a full HD display.

Oh yeah, it also has 4GB of RAM, which means that the Huawei Honor H60 smartphone could have more memory than many laptop computers.

Details about the upcoming phone showed up at China’s TENAA website.

TENAA is basically the Chinese equivalent of the FCC. Phones and other wireless devices have to receiver certification from TENAA before they can go on sale — but just because details for a device show up at the agency’s website doesn’t mean that phone will actually go on sale.

Still, the specs paint an intriguing picture of a phone with Android 4.4 software, a 1920 x 1080 pixel display, a 13MP camera, an SD card slot, and support for 4G LTE.

If the phone  really has 4GB of RAM it would be one of the first smartphones to ship with that much memory… and although most mobile apps and operating systems don’t need 4GB of RAM to function today, who knows what kind of software you’ll want to do with your phone two or three years from now?

    1. A 64 bits CPU is needed to handle MORE that 4 Gb or RAM…a normal 32 bits ARM CPU will be totally fine to handle 4 Gb…

  1. Wow how bloated is android getting that it needs this much RAM?
It didn’t take long to reach Windows levels, apparently.

    1. Ram has always increased. Early computers ran on less RAM than your phone (256MB). To say it’s bloated is like complaining about high resolution, or larger hard drives (article with 8TB posted yesterday), etc : Not for everyone, but it’s going somewhere.

    2. Wow how capable is Android getting that it needs this much RAM?

      Your welcome. 😉
