Huawei’s latest big-screen phone has a 6 inch screen and an 8-core processor… so clearly it’s called the Ascend Mate 7. I guess someone in the counting department decided to split the difference.
The Huawei Ascend Mate features a full HD display, a hefty 4100mAH battery, and a fingerprint sensor, making it the first Huawei phone to feature biometric security.
The phone will be available in select markets in Europe and Asia this fall.
Huawei will offer a model with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage for $499. A model with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage will run 599 Euros.
Both models features a Huawei Kirin 925 octa-core processor with four 1.8 GHz ARM Cortex-15 CPU cores and four 1.3 GHz Cortex-A7 cores.
The phone has a 13MP rear camera, a 5MP front-facing camera, and support for 4G LTE. It measures 0.31 inches thick, has a 0.1 inch bezel around the screen, and weighs 6.5 ounces, which makes it pretty light for a 6 inch phone — especially one with a metal body.
“which makes it pretty light for a 7 inch phone”, 6″ phones tend to be pretty light compared to 7″ ones. Typo
