Best Buy has confirmed that it will begin selling the HTC Flyer Android tablet on May 22nd. The date had sort of leaked a while ago, but now it’s official. This Sunday Best Buy will be the only retailer in the US selling HTC’s 7 inch tablet.

The Best Buy version sill ship without a digital pen, but the tablet does have an N-Trig digitizer and you’ll be able to buy the pen as an optional accessory if you want to use the tablet’s handwriting and drawing features. The tablet also has a capacitive touchscreen with support for finger input.

The HTC Flyer has a 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, a 1024 x 600 pixel display, and runs Google Android 2.3 with HTC Sense 3.0 software. It’s available for pre-order for $499.99.

The tablet is already available in parts of Europe, where it ships with the digital pen and a much higher price tag.

  1. I’ve been to the Best Buy web site, but there’s no sign of a pen to buy.

Is BB falling for the anti-pen rhetoric of Steve Jobs?
