HP recently dropped the price of the TouchPad tablet in the US by $100. Now the entry level 16GB model of the company’s first webOS tablet is available for $399.99 while the 32GB version runs $499.99. But it looks like the price cuts aren’t a US-only phenomenon.
In Germany the base price has fallen from 480 € to 399 €, and the price cut is also in effect in France. In the UK the TouchPad is now £50 cheaper. And in Australia the HP TouchPad has seen a $100 price cut.
The HP TouchPad features a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon dual core processor, a 9.7 inch, 1024 x 768 pixel capacitive multitouch display, and webOS 3.0 operating system. It represents HP’s first foray into the consumer tablet space… unless you count the Windows tablets HP has been releasing for years.
