HP’s tablet lineup includes a few 8 inch models including the $170 HP 8 budget model and the $330 HP Slate 8 Pro with a faster CPU and higher-resolution display.
But it looks like there’s room for at least one more: an unannounced device called the HP Slate 8Â Plus received WiFi certification recently.

The WiFi certification site doesn’t provide many details about the new tablet, but we do know it runs Android, features 802.11a/b/g/n WiFi support, and it supports dual-band 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks.
The name suggests that the tablet will have an 8 inch screen (or maybe a 7.85 inch display), and the “plus” could be an indication that the tablet will be a little fancier than the plain old HP 8, which has a quad-core ARM Cortex-A7 CPU, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, and a 1024 x 768 pixel display.
A faster CPU, more memory, or higher-resolution display would be nice. But we’ll probably have to wait a little longer for complete specs.
The HP Slate 7 Plus, for what it’s worth, is a tablet with an NVIDIA Tegra 3 display, a 7 inch, 1280 x 800 pixel display, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of storage. It sells for $150.
