HP may be working on an all-in-one desktop/tablet with a 17 inch display. The company already offers 21 inch HP Slate 21 and Slate 21 Pro models. Now an unannounced HP Slate 17 has shown up at online benchmarking site GFXBench.

The HP Slate 17 reportedly features a 17.2 inch, 1920 x 1080 pixel display, an Intel Celeron N2807 dual-core Bay Trail processor, 2GB Of RAM, and 32GB of built-in storage. It runs nNdroid 4.4 KitKat. It has WiFi and a front-facing camera, but no rear camera, Bluetooth, or GPS.
If the details are correct, you can probably think of the Slate 17 as a desktop monitor… which you can also use as a standalone device that runs Android apps including a web browser, video players, or games even when there’s no PC plugged in.
HP’s Slate series all-in-one systems also have built-in batteries, which mean that you can pick up the systems and carry them around the house without lugging around an extension cord. That means you can look up a recipe in the office and carry the system to the kitchen while you’re cooking, play a game on a Slate system as it lays flat on a coffee table, or watch videos anywhere in the house.
HP’s Slate 21 has an NVIDIA Tegra 4 processor and 8GB of 16GB of storage, so the new model, if it’s real, will have a different CPU architecture and more storage.

In the works?
How much work does it take to stencil a logo on to the piece you are rebranding?
A little double sided tape should already be on those plastic badges, so make with!
Very strange device. 17″ display is a bit difficult to lug around the house. Battery life will be poor unless it has a very large battery, making it even more difficult to lug around the house. 1080p isn’t great for up close and personal work on a 17″ tablet, just OK as a desktop monitor. I can see anyone who purchases this thing just ending up using it as an all-in-one PC that never moves from one location. In that case they would do better to just buy a regular all-in-one PC or a good monitor and a NUC.
