HP’s first tablet with an Intel Atom Bay Trail processor features a 1920 x 1200 pixel display, 2GB of RAM, and it Windows 8.1 software. It also comes with Microsoft Office 2013 pre-loaded.

The HP Omni 10 is set to launch in November.

The 10 inch tablet features an Intel Atom Z3000 processor, up to 9 hours of battery life, and an 8MP camera.

It features a microSD card slot, micro HDMI port, and microUSB port, although you’ll need to use a proprietary charger, not the USB port to charge the battery.

HP hasn’t announced a price for the HP Omni 10 yet.

This tablet showed up at the FCC last month, where it went through tests related to 802.11a/b/g/n WiFi and Bluetooth.

  1. Is the screen 1920×1080 (16:9) or 1920×1200 (16:10)? CNET is saying 16:10, but you’re saying 16:9. From eyeballing it looks to be 16:10.

  2. @ Alan : Not to my knowledge . The only 8 inch Win 8 tablets announced so far are

Acer W3 ( Clover Trail, not bay trail though )

    Toshiba Encore ( baytrail )

    Dell Venue 8 ( baytrail )

    Lenovo Miix 8 ( baytrail )

Apart from these 8 inchers, other Baytrail announcemnets are of Dell Venue Midland 10, Lenovo Miix 2 ( 10 incher) Asus T 100 10 incher and one 13 incher and HP Pavilion 11 and HP OMNI 10 . Sony Tap 11 is something I didnt add here coz its way too expensive

I am excited about Asus T100 coz it has been pegged at 349 for 32GB and 399 for 64GB ; DELL Venue 8 has also been pegged at 329 USD. Toshiba Encore and Lenovo Miix should be sub 400 as well

HP Pavilion 11 has been a bit of a disappointment with a 600 dollar price tag

    1. I too am thinking about getting the Asus T100, but it doesn’t have a rear camera. And the fac that this doesn’t have NFC doesn’t help. I wish there would be a Win8.1 tab with at least full hd display , front and rear cams, and nfc for under 400

p.s. The Miix 8, Venue “Midland” 10, and Miix 2 have not been formally announced, but the source-winsupersite-is very reliable

      1. I am really glad you chose Win 8 over shitdroid….

Do you really need rear camera on a 10 inch device ? And does one ever use NFC when memory cards and BT serve every normal use purpose ?

    1. available for per-order at Microsoft for 199. I am really leaning towards this compared to both asus and dell. Only question is accessory.
